PRESCRIÇÃO DE NUTRACÊUTICOS EM UM AMBULATÓRIO DE GASTROENTEROLOGIA DE BELO HORIZONTE

Introdução: Nutracêuticos, compostos derivados de alimentos naturais, têm emergido como
promissores agentes da saúde gastrointestinal. Contudo, o desconhecimento sobre seu perfil de
prescrição em ambientes de atenção especializada limita a compreensão de sua integração no
manejo clínico. Objetivo: Este estudo visa descrever os padrões de prescrição de nutracêuticos
entre adultos diagnosticados com doença hepática ou dispepsia atendidos em um ambulatório
de gastroenterologia em Belo Horizonte, Brasil. Método: Realizou-se um estudo transversal e
retrospectivo analisando registros médicos de primeiras consultas ambulatoriais entre agosto de
2022 e setembro de 2023. Resultados: Dos 688 atendimentos analisados, 141 pacientes foram
elegíveis para o estudo, predominando o sexo feminino (63,1%) com média de idade de 58,7
anos. A hipertensão arterial sistêmica foi a comorbidade mais prevalente (52,5%). A maioria
tinha diagnóstico de dispepsia (68,1%), seguida por hepatopatia (31,9%). Nutracêuticos foram
prescritos em 26,2% dos casos, destacando-se a vitamina D (11,3%) e o psyllium (5%).
Observou-se diferenças significativas na prescrição de nutracêuticos, especialmente a vitamina
B1, mais frequente em pacientes com hepatopatia. Conclusões: A prescrição de nutracêuticos
é uma prática comum na especialidade de gastroenterologia, indicando a necessidade de mais
estudos clínicos para avaliar sua eficácia terapêutica.
